SRAM Corporation is a privately held bicycle component manufacturing company founded in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1987. SRAM has grown steadily through its own success, as well as through acquisitions of other companies, and over the course of its history, Sram has become one of the largest manufacturers of bicycle components in the world. The company is known for producing cycling components with in-house developments such as the Grip Shift, Double Tap, 1x11 and 1x12 drivetrains and now the only wireless shifting system, the Sram Red eTap.
